CARIBBEAN  RACE  TRAINING

Although she's a cruising boat, Voilactus is well outfitted for regattas, with several sail combinations, including spinnaker. In handicap classes, she's placed 2nd in Antigua Sailing Week for two years in a row and fourth in Heineken Regatta 2020.

When sailing with us, your registration includes coaching by very experienced racers, and the opportunity to crew in different roles, so everybody gains experience in all aspects of the race, from bow to tactician.

Crew members will work on sail trim, tactics, electronic aids and regatta software, engine care, radio communications, navigation rules, and several other important aspects of navigation. Participation is open for all experience levels, including some slots reserved for newcomers to the sport.

On a race day, the boat departs for 5-7 hours of racing, returning in the afternoon. Ashore there are lively parties, concerts, and a wide choice of restaurants.

For the 2022-23 season we are offering the following special rates, for every regatta:

SPECIAL OFFER: We offer a slot at the regattas at the low price of only $950. For those who have raced with us before, it's only $750.

We want young people to feel the excitement of ocean sailing, so we are offering sailors from 14 to 21 years of age the chance to sail at half of the published prices, when accompanied by an adult !

And we have additional discounts too: Bring a pal with you, and you'll get 10% off both slots, or put together a team of 3 or more and get a 20% discount of every member's fee, or better still, book the entire boat, at a very special rate.

These racing fees include coaching, a cap, 2 additional days of training time, regatta registration, water, beer, and engine fuel.  All other expenses including accommodation are additional costs for the crew member.

On a first come, first serve basis, two cabins on the Voilactus may be available. Once these are booked, crew members may need to find accommodation ashore. Accommodation on the boat is $90 extra per day for the front, larger, cabin and $60/day for a rear double cabin.  These are prices per cabin, and crew members may share a cabin without paying extra. Persons staying on board will be charged for the cabin usage for each night of your stay, including training and shore days. Those who need or choose to find lodging ashore, have a wide range of properties available for rent, from luxurious hotels or villas, to private houses or apartments. AirBnB.com, VRBO, and Booking.com are useful web sites. We'll assist in doing car or lodging bookings at no extra cost.

All costs of transportation to/from the dock, island tours, or special activities, meals and any other extras are the individual responsibility of each crew member.

Meals: We recommend that every crew member bring with them something for lunch (ideally a sandwich, fruit or something easy to grab while working hard). Dinners are the responsibility of each crew member.  A wide choice of restaurants is available at every regatta site.

Requisites for Crewing: Fit for moving swiftly around the boat and operating the boat gear, which will require moderate strength and stamina. Note: you must be in general good health and fitness, as the boat will frequently be several hours away from any medical facility. Every crew member must sign a release of indemnity and agree in writing to strictly adhere to safety guidelines and instructions of the skipper.

All regattas are subject to weather conditions, and can be changed, cancelled or postponed at the organizing entity’s sole discretion, and no refund or replacement will be given. In the event of Force Mejeur events that oblige organizers to cancel regattas, no refunds can be given.
